I'd have to go with Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

Mega Rayquaza being the sole reason.

    OR/AS

X/Y is still a very good game but just revisiting Hoenn in the glorious new 3D and all the new megas and the Primal reversion, mega rayquaza. Everything is just perfect with that game

Based on the choice, I would say Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, but nothing is better than the good old times. I would always prefer blue and red, if these are up for election.

AS/OR, although I always had Emerald when they were originally out

Normally I would agree with the other posters, OR & AS due to nostalgia.
Though I liked X & Y more, it was the format. Customization and all that goodness.

Honestly, they are as good as eachother if you let the 'OMG ITS H003N AGAIn' thoughts come out. I've seen lots of things about the games (lp's, music, story,. compeditive) without playing them (besides when I stole my cousin's x at christmas the year it came out), and they both have high's and lows. Music seems quite polarizing with songs either being goood, bad or you forget about them (I hate wally's battle theme for the reason of they made it so damm short i can humm all of the theme in 30's).

Nah, you're right. I played Pokemon Blue to death, and the theme to Viridian Forest still gives me (good) chills down my spine.

I don't know much about the recent one, but I loved the original Pokèmon Ruby.

Not bad, but the victory road theme is better, better by far in my personal opinion. Whenever I am listening to this, I have the so called showdown-feeling which is catched by that perfectly.
