Hi I was wondering you could help me. I am due to start my BSc Child Nursing at Anglia Ruskin University in March '16. I already have a degree.

I've been told I am able to apply for a reduced maintenance loan as I'm on an NHS course. I live in Scotland but am going to University in England. I've tried to apply via Student Finance England but they tell I have to do it via SAAS in Scotland. However when I start my application they do not recognise any English Universities when applying for an NMSB.

Could anyone please clarify on where I'm supposed to apply for this reduced maintenance loan..England or Scotland??

Help me please...I'm so confused

Hi Kirsty,

If you live in Scotland and going to be studying in England, there is no loan support available it would be a means tested NHS bursary paid through NHS Students Grants Unit.

Thanks.

Ok. Is this the only available support available to me then? This bursary will not even cover all my rent. Let alone my other bills.

So if I lived in England when going to an English university I'd be able to apply for a reduced maintenance loan?

Hi,

Yes. We can only provide funding for students who's permanent address is in England For students living in Scotland, they would need to apply through SAAS. As I am unsure of the SAAS regulations, it would be worth calling them to check if they have any funding available for you.

Thanks
