    Hi Guys,

I'm studying BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering as well as other subjects as well, ever since the rules were changed for the september 2014 entry, BTEC's have become a lot harder, for example if you fail one P task you fail the whole unit and thus can fail the entire course. Also because of the rule changes do BTEC's still carry a bad reputation for being easy. Does anyone else find it like this as well. I got a few Distinctions in a few units last year and aiming for a DD or DM overall.

I wouldn't say they have a bad reputation but they do have a reputation of not being as academic as A levels

Do you think that Universities though look down on BTEC's more than A levels?

I don't think they are tbh, if your BTEC gets you on the course you wanted, well done!

theres always gonna be some a-levels saying that btecs are easy and not as good. dont worry about the reputation - many universities recognise btecs. in the end, someone will always judge.
