Geology with Foundation Year, is it Dual Honours? watch

    • Thread Starter

At Keele University, before doing your normal bachelors course, you can do a Foundation Year if you don't have the required grades or need a more gentle introduction to uni life.

You can also do a Major-Minor course (major subject for three years, minor subject for first two years) or Dual Honours courses for most subjects (two subjects for the three years).

I want to apply for the Foundation Year with my bachelors in Geology. My confusion is:

    - On the UCAS website, Keele offers "Geology with Science Foundation Year"
    - On the UCAS website, Keele also offers "Geology (Major with 2nd subject)"
    - Therefore, I don't believe you can just do solely geology (which is fine with me)
    - On the Keele website page for the science foundation year, Geology is only listed under the dual honours section.

So my question is: Is the course (Geology with Science Foundation Year), Dual Honours or not?

To get a definitive answer you will need to ask Keele. The website says you can take optional modules from different science disciplines in the science foundation year. It looks as though the foundation year can prepare you for a joint geology and another science degree, but not humanities or social science subjects.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
