Ive just received an unconditional offer from UEA, however I must put this universtiy as my firm choice. This has left me with some questions, such as; if I put this university as my firm choice can I decide not to attend that school come results day and go to another uni? Thanks in advance

To do that, you'd need to get UEA to release you into clearing, and you would have to take your chances with what you find there. An unconditional firm does not allow you to have an insurance - you will be holding no other offers. It can take up to two weeks to be released into clearing if the university decides to be difficult, by which time the places you might consider will be most likely gone.

Short answer - Do not put anything down as your firm unless you really, really want to go there.

Just remember that the unconditional offer is untended to make life easier for the university, not for you. It allows them to fix their student numbers much more easily and it's a marketing tool which flatters the applicant into choosing a university they may not have thought of putting as their firm. It also locks the applicant out of using adjustment, which is one of the main reasons it has suddenly become so popular. Be wary.
