I think the conservation of momentum would be Newton's third law in equation but I have never heard of the triangle method, I would be interested to know what the method is.

Yes it is momentum, doing physics exam and i know some equations, but trying to remember them is tricky the triangle used in dynamics is a helpful way to figure out what equation to use i'ts like the sine,cos and tangent triangle in trigonometry. Let me know if you have an easier way of remembering.

I understand how we use trigonometric identities in dynamics but I don't understand how they relate to Newton's third law. Is there a specific problem you are talking about?
