How can 1 molecule of GALP produce a 6carbon glucose when it only has 3 carbons to start with during the Calvin cycle?
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get responses. :redface:

I'm going to quote in Tank Girl now so she can move your thread to the right place if it's needed. :h: :yy:

6/3 = 2

You need two molecules.

to be exact, 12 GALP is involved, 10 of which regenerate to become 6 RuBP, 2 of which combines to become one glucose.

10 GALP: 10 x 3C = 30C ---> 6 RuBP: 6 x 5C = 30C

2 GALP: 2 x 3C = 6C --> 1 glucose
