    Hi!

I'm not too sure about synonyms for muestra que... maybe try saying things like "lo que creo que Lorca quiera decir es..." and things like that. The sisters are oppressed in the play

maybe you could say "sugiere que" ?

I've just looked up both definitions, to check the nuance of the words... oppressed = "subject to harsh and authoritarian treatment" therefore I would say that Bernarda/society of 1930s Spain oppresses them, because of all of the rules she imposes/the conformity expected by society at that time. Repressed: "(of a thought or desire) kept suppressed and unconscious in one's mind." - Some of the sisters repress their sexuality, however this doesn't apply to all of them, since Adela expresses it very openly!
