    Hey guys!
I wish to study in UK and for that i need to give the IELTS (english is my first language). I just want to know whether it is hard to get a good score on IELTS?
Also does studying for it require a lot of time?
Lastly, should i give it in IB Yr 1 or Yr 2?

    Thanks!

Do it yr 1, because you'll be really busy yr 2.

it's really easy, however you do need to look up on the writing exam to understand what they're looking for. you could jsut spend 2 hours looking it up and it should be completely fine.

I don't think you need to give IELTS. If you are asked to do so, it is fine to give your IELTS score after submitting UCAS. I sent my application without IELTS, because most of universities accept IB English Grade (either language A or B) .

If admission officer want to see your IELTS, they will add it as one of your requirements in your conditional offer. (I received a con offer from Warwick. They ask me to achieve at least a certain Grade in IB English instead of taking IELTS.)

Its extremely easy. Got an 8.5 after solving only half of one excercise book. Just buy one of those excercise books, look at the questions patterns, and solve some of it under timed conditions in each section, and you're good to go!
