    Hi guys,

A friend of mine has no idea what he wishes to study at uni and it's stressing him out and most of his friends because of the fast approaching university deadline.

He studies Biology, Chemistry and Physics (Maths for AS); for AS he got ACCd respectively. He wanted to do natural sciences but he acknowledges his grades aren't good enough for it. Then he wanted to go into something life sciences related specifically biology but realised there aren't many career options post uni other than research. I'm not too sure myself because of my lack of information on things available. He's very bright and for GCSEs achieved 5 A*'s and 8 As. Also, he'd get predicted high A Level grades (A*AA if needs must) because of the nature of our school and the nature of him as an individual.

    Would appreciate all advice!

    Thanks

There is no rush for him to go to university this year, in fact I would say he would be best off focusing on getting those C's into A's at A-Level so he can apply for natural science. A gap year is no bad thing- he could earn some money to take to uni or get some valuable work experience or both. Better that than him going to uni unhappy because he wasnt doing the course he really wanted to do.
