    Q. Find the number of students who took between 40 and 60 seconds.

There is a histogram table , with frequency density on the Y ais , and Time(s) on the X axis.

I multiplied the class width and F.D which give 100 seconds.
Answer in the book is 150 seconds??

if the answer was 150, I'm guessing each unit squared had a definite frequency so k=... usually the previous part of the question would have asked this; it doesn't help that you didn't post the entire question would be helpful to see the histogram and the previous parts of the question. You said the answer was 150, your area was 100 so each unit squared must be 150/100= 1.5
so 1.5 was each unit squared, you worked out the area of the bar as 100, so 100x1.5 = 150
