# Cost of Part 3 Maths at Cambridge watch

1. Basically, a friend of mine is considering to try and get into part 3 at Cambridge but both of us are quite confused about how much it would cost. The website is rather unclear as its "calculator" states something just over £19k made up of fees and maintenance which we can't work out if any of those are projected costs or defined costs you would have to pay. Many thanks to anybody who answers.

Assuming they are a uk student

£9000 tuition fees (you would pay this amount)
£5000-6000 rent (think Cambridge living is expensive so may be more) (this is a ball park figure so expect around this)
£3000-5000 for food and general life costs that aren't rent related (totally related to the person themselves so could be more could be less)

so I would say 19k is a fairish estimate for the amount of cash you would need

This is the same thinking that we were using but then noticed the point at the bottom, "The fees and maintenance requirement shown here or anywhere else on this site are the minimum costs you will be liable for." It's the minimum part which is odd implying the maintenance cost is mandatory...
