By the looks of it many people have picked Fortismere over Woodhouse college, I am in year 11 at the moment and I am thinking about going to Fortismere sixth form, I would like to study English language and literature (combined), Drama, Spanish and either Media studies or Film studies (can anyone tell me the difference between the two and which one they think it better?).
The teaching is said to be excellent and you are treated like an adult, do many people who pick 4 subjects in AS stick with those 4 subjects and carry them on in A2 or do most people drop a subject and do 3 in A2?
I heard something about this 20 minute thing every Wednesday, whats that about?
Are people allowed to leave school when they do not have a lesson?
Do you have to wear certain colours?
Is it 50% girls and 50% boys in the sixth form?
Is there a library in the school or close by?
    Sorry for the many questions
    Thank you

I studied music at Woodhouse College. I don't really know if I can be of much help to you though. It was all a long time ago for me. But best of luck to you.

Never been to Fortismere so I couldn't say, but I'm a current A2 Woodhouse student, if those questions still apply?

Do many people who pick 4 subjects in AS stick with those 4 subjects and carry them on in A2 or do most people drop a subject and do 3 in A2? - Most drop one but I know a few people that keep all 4! You generally just have a chat with the principal or teachers to see what's best for you.
I heard something about this 20 minute thing every Wednesday, whats that about? - I think this was in reference to Fortismere? Woodhouse do enrichment for the first (two, i think?) terms of AS, which is just an hour on Wednesday of any club/activity you choose (I did art)
Are people allowed to leave school when they do not have a lesson? - Lol yes, you can come and go whenever you want.
Do you have to wear certain colours? - Again, I'm not sure if you were asking about exclusively Fortismere, but no, Woodhouse has no dress code whatsoever. People literally come in pyjamas and random crap all the time, nobody cares at all about what you wear
Is it 50% girls and 50% boys in the sixth form? - I'd say so, pretty much. All of my subjects are female-dominated so it'd be hard for me to judge, but according to the prospectus it's a pretty even split
Is there a library in the school or close by? There is a large library in the college and three 'learning zones' (places with computers and tables so you can work/chat with others). There's also a 'social area', which is pretty self-explanatory, in that it is a large noisy area for people to socialise.

    Hope this was helpful!

    ...
What subjects do you take? I'm definitely applying to Woodhouse, but all the courses look incredible and I can't choose!
I've also heard that registration is at 8:45 - is this true? Or if your first lesson is at 11, could you just turn up at 11? And is extra-curricular only offered on Wednesday afternoons, or do some activities also run on other days or at other times?

I took English lit, Psychology, Art and Biology at AS (I achieved AABB) and I dropped biology at a2!

And no! In a2 we have registration twice a week at 1:15, but I can't remember AS (I'm going to find my timetable from last year and attach it, if that helps?)
You can turn up whenever your first lesson is! For instance, on my A2 timetable, my only lesson on a Tuesday is psychology at 2:30, so I turn up at 2:30

The enrichment on wednesdays is compulsory for the first two terms of AS (i think?) and you can choose to pick up a different one after. Also, there a loads and loads of clubs and societies that run at random times all over college (I was in the feminist society last year that met at 4:30 on mondays, for instance), theres also a history society and debate and english things that run at lunch times! Lots of them are student-led, so if there's a club you want that doesn't exist you can just make it yourself I guess

Any other questions, feel free to ask!
Here's my AS timetable (it's not as daunting as it looks, and the amount of frees more than doubles at A2!)
