I have some cousins that I haven't seen for a good 10-15 years. They were from my Dads side of the family. One was a few months older than me (female) and the other (male) was a few years older (possibly four years).

Due to family feuds, and a violent Husband/Father their Mother (My Auntie) took the kids one day and fled with them, leaving my Uncle and the family home.

So it is more a case of, they are 'lost' of their own accord. I believe my Uncle was just a loose cannon and it was a Domestic Abuse type of thing. Of course naturally the Mother took the kids (at a young age- they were about 8 and 12). The kids would have naturally taken the Mothers side.

It all happened so fast, and my uncle was left distraught and empty. To top it all off, his Wife was having an affair anyways. She'd packed up belongings whilst he was away at work or some such other place. He got back and the whole house was empty. He didn't hear anything back, but would receive word from his Mother-In-Law that kept giving half truths, minor details as to where his kids and mother had gone.

Word on the grapevine is that they went to Mansfield in Nottingham area. My Uncle has been up and down the country looking for them for years. He gets the occasional phone call out of the blue when relatives die, wishing them well. Last time, it was my Gran who died, and my cousin turns up Pregnant and basically asking my Uncle for money, naturally, he felt inclined as her Father. She also thought she'd get something in Grans will. As soon as my Uncle gave her what she wanted she went off again.

Long story short; no idea where they are now. But I want to find them, as ive been curious as to how they are now. I'm now in my mid twenties and I was about 8/9 when they left. They are in their mid-late twenties now. Their mother changed their surnames from the family name also, probably to make it harder to trace them, but also to insult my grandparents.

I've tried Facebook, I've tried searching databases (but all seem to come at a price, and rip you off!).

What can I do? I am well aware that also they may not wish to be found.
