Arts not a waste of time, but time consuming. If you're really good at art, and drawing is your passion, and you really love it, then I see no reason why not to take it. Something like Bio, Chem, Maths and Art is a brilliant subject combination, as apart from science and economics, it also opens up architecture.

My main advice with A Levels is acknowledging their difficulty. I wasn't ever that great at chemistry, got an A* in the 3 sciences at GCSE but that's mainly because it's mainly memorising stuff. At A Level I crashed and burned. So if you don't want to do Maths, then definitely switch. My friend is applying for the Biological sciences at Oxford. He got AABC, the C in maths. He regrets not doing English, even though it is less related, as AAAB would have looked better. So if you feel you'll get a better grade in Art, go for it.
