    Hi,

I have applied to do the BSc in Psychology at Heriot Watt, Stirling, York st John and Leeds Beckett. They all require 3 B's but my grades are and will be ABC. My C however is in Psychology, I will have to get B's in my A2 to get a B overall. My target was originally a B but due to the fact I am not resitting it has changed to a C. Does this mean I am more likely to be rejected? Will the fact my worst grade at A2 is targeted to be my worst grade affect my chances?

Thank you for anyone who answers this question!!

I don't think that you can realistically expect being a grade under what is being asked for in the subject you are applying for not to have an effect, to be honest. You have to consider it from the point of view of an admissions tutor. If you do get five rejections, you should have a look at Extra and see which universities are making points offers instead of grades.

    Hi Vxctorxa,

Delighted to have made your shortlist! I work for the recruitment team at Heriot-Watt so hopefully i can give you some advice...

Now I can't speak for any of the other universities, but if you are predicted ABC then we would still be look at your application and if your personal statement was strong, along with grades that are very close to our minimum entry requirements I have a feeling that HW would make you an offer.

The fact that the C is in Psychology is neither here nor there for us at this point because there will be some students that come on the course who haven't done any Psychology at all. We know that not every school offers the course so we do not put it in our requirements.

Hope this has made sense and if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to get in touch or reply on this thread.

    Cheers,
    Keir
