So far in my school it has been about a week after we have sent it in, but I think as it draws closer to the deadline they'll be trying to do them more quickly, it all depends on how many members of staff are putting the references in etc, but you'll get a welcome email from UCAS once they have processed it (I believe).

It really depends on your school/college. Mine has a policy that they dont have it for more than two weeks without sending it off/back to you to correct mistakes. It also depends on how many people's applications they are checking at that time. E.g nearer to the deadline it will probably take longer due to more people submitting it at that time. It also depends on how many people are checking your application.
Mine had to go through my college tutor and then the careers team. I submitted it to them friday morning and by wednesday afternoon they had sent it off.
I hope this helps and good luck!!!

About two days I hit pay/send on the Monday, and we sent it off at the end of the school day on the Wednesday

It's quite an involved process at my school, so each person sends off their own application to make sure they're absolutely happy with it...

I sent mine off yesterday evening, and my school had it checked by this morning. However, my upper sixth only has about 50 people in it and most are still working on their personal statements.

Mine sent ours off straight away, as you as you were happy with it you would sit with the teacher and they send it off while you are there, our school had a personal deadline of 31/10 though,

It took them just over two weeks, even though I was the first person in the year to send it to them...
