Why is it headline news that Corbyn condemned anti-Semitic comments? Is it because it comes after years of refusing to condemn Holocaust deniers and people who have said things a million times more anti-Semitic than what Kaufman said? It's like it comes as a massive surprise to people or something.

Shhh! This goes against the narrative that Corbyn is an anti Semite! Can't be having that.

Regardless of whether Gerald Kaufman's remarks were antisemetic, were they true?

Such a predictable response. If he doesn't pander, it's proof that he's an anti-Semite/hates Britain/eats babies. If he does, it's protesting too much: underneath he must be an anti-Semite/hate Britain/eat babies.

We have already seen this kind of heads I win tails you lose done since Corbyn's election. After years of self-righteous whinging on the right about how left-wingers are hypocrites for daring to be left-wing while having money, finally a genuine sackcloth and ashes lefty, with personal integrity so watertight he allows it to dictate every aspect of his personal life, was elected. Immediately the newspapers started to criticise him for having weird habits and hobbies.

It's a technique lifted straight from the school bully's playbook and frankly it's getting boring.

Excellent post. Double standards are a favourite hobby of the right.

Another one they do all the time is call the Labour Party/leader loony lefty and out of touch but at other times they say 'they're no different to the rest and a Tory lite'.
Just depends on the narrative. The same posters on here were calling ed milliband both a far left commie and a Tory lite who would be no different.
