First note that 3-2 = 1 unless there is meant to be a y in there.

If you have an equation for a line, how do you find the equation that gives you the gradient?

is there supposed to be a y in there somewhere?

that's what I thought but there is no y on the worksheet??

well if you drew that equation graphically it would just be a vertical line going through x= -1/2? There must be a mistake with the worksheet because you need to have a y in there to be able to put it into the form y=mc+c where m is the gradient.
