# Series help watch

1. Stuck :/
2. I'm moving on to this soon and while I can't really help with specifics, here's a summary of the main subtitles from the textbook.

+ A series of numbers following a set rule is called a sequence.
+ When you know a formula for the nth term (eg Un = 3n - 1) you can find any
term
+ When you know the rule to get from one term to the next, you can use this
information to produce a recurrence relationship (or recurrence formula)
+ A sequence that increases by a constant amount each time is called an
arithmetic sequence
+ Arithmetic series are formed by adding together the terms of an arithmetic
sequence U1 + U2 + U3...+ Un
+ You need to be able to find the sum of an arithmetic series
+ You can use SIGMA to signify 'the sum of'

There's examples under each, but get that down and that's the material for c1.

Okey dokey, so how would you split that up into two summations?
