# Maximum volume watch

1. A rectangular sheet dimensions a x b is to be made into an open-topped box by cutting a square of side h from each corner and folding the 4 sides up. Find the value of h which allows the maximum volume of the box?
2. you need to find expressions for the three sides of the box... one will be h

then multiply them together to get an expression for the volume... then you can use calculus to find the maximum volume.

so ive got h(b-2h)(a-2h) but then what do u differentiate with respect to/

a,b are constants. h is the only variable, and you trying to find the value of h that gives the max. volume. So, "h".
