Hi, recently I went round a REME RESERVE CENTRE as part of army cadets but it also had regulars and some of them really inspired me and encouraged us to develop and follow our dreams.

But I've some questions if that is ok? I understand that aircraft technicians do mechanical and avionic do electrics mainly but which is better? I mean pay wise, life style, postings (I want to travel to as many as possible).
What are the qualifications you can earn like, are they relevant to civilian life? I see it only says I can learn Btecs and that not what I'm looking for I want higher more relevant qualifications for when I get out.

Also where can I be posted? is there a wide variety of places are am I limited to where I can go. As the regular was a VM he was saying they go anywhere basically as everyone has vehicles but as techs you only have specialised units, is this true?

thank you for your replies and I may have further questions, if that is ok?
