# Solving for m watch

1. Hello everyone. I have this question:

The curve C is given by the equation y = mx^3 - x^2 + 8x + , for a constant m.

Also, the point P lies on C, and has an x value of 5

The normal to C at P is parallel to the line given by the equation y + 4x - 3 = 0

Hence find the value for m?

I know what the gradient of the tangent is, and I think that m is 3/100, but I'm not sure... Can anyone help?
