Yes, I know this is ages away - but we'll have to apply before we know it! Wondering if anyone else here in Year 10 is thinking of a career in medicine at this point, I'd love to talk to you!

I'm hoping to go into medicine too; does anyone have ideas about what universities they want to apply to yet?

    For GCSE I'm taking:
    English Lang
    English Lit
    Maths
    Biology
    Chemistry
    Physics
    Spanish
    Geography
    History
    ICT
(+ an additional maths qualification - not sure what it is exactly?)

Yep, GCSEs are really important - but more so with Oxford than Cambridge, I think. Cambridge mainly focus on AS levels...
But having said that, with the new a level reforms, we might not be taking AS levels, so even more pressure on our GCSEs

Quite similar to my choices 😏 I used to do Mandarin but it was really hard so I didn't take it for GCSE.
What exam board do you do for Latin? I do OCR.
Yep, same I do OCR too for Latin - we're also doing the same board for Geography, what topic are you on at the moment/ how are you finding it?

😂haha sorry i thought you were @DysfunctionalMe but i still think those are great choices

It's more annoying for our year because we have a mix of letter and numbers fot our final grades 😕
I'm actually happy about it because English and maths are my favourite and some of my best subjects so I think I could get 9s which could help me in Oxford for example where I think to get an interview they just put number of a* proportion of a* and bmat in a computer and there's a cut off point but having 9s would put me at an advantage (or equal to those people with like 14 a* )

I love Maths but not English so I have mixed emotions about it :P but I would feel better if it was all letters because on the other hand, if you don't do well, an 8 would be more noticable than a low A*.
True, but my school is putting a lot of emphasis on English, we have it 8 times a fortnight, so I don't need to worry about it as much

We have it 4 times a week too but I still suck at it 😓
I wish English wasn't important. I dont enjoy it.
