HELP

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help

I have just left school with AAAAC at higher level in English , Modern Studies , Media Studies , Philosophical studies and computing science and I plan on doing volunteer work in africa for a year before uni and plan on applying for Philosophy at uni next year. But Im very worried that my grades are not good enough for this course at a Scottish Uni preferably Dundee or Stirling and was wondering if anyone could reassure me ? , also I was wondering how universities viewed gap years ? ,
