Variations of the white shahadah (Islamic declaration of faith) on a black background have been used since the 18th century, well before being appropriated by ISIS, to the point that it's become a de facto flag for symbolising Islam. There's nothing jihadist about it.

I know that the white and black flag was hijacked by isis. I was talking about the 2 swords not the shahada

Like I said, variations of it have been around for ages, whether with swords, without swords, whatever. It doesn't in itself signify any particular terrorist group.

Tbh I've been out of the nasheed loop for a looong time, but am I still right in thinking that for all the saturation in the industry, few have surpassed Dawud Wharnsby for his combination of meaningful lyricism and great music? Not heard any of his new stuff, but his old stuff was brilliant. I still listen to them occasionally, touches me on a level no other nasheed artist does.

    My favourite:

Can only include one video, so other good songs would be Afraid To Read, Al-Khaliq, Full of Humility, The Everything Song, The Veil. Pretty much all of his first few albums are worth a listen.

Goddamn, listening to these again gets me bubbling over with nostalgia. :cry2:

Honorable mentions: Irfan Makki's Salaam album, Zain Bhikha's older stuff, Sami Yusuf's newer stuff, lots of Mishary Rashid's stuff even though I don't understand most of it, Shaam's old stuff, a few of Yusuf Islam's (formerly Cat Stevens) stuff, a few of Imran Dahya's songs.

    sounds pretty good!

    here is isis one:

I hate isis with a passion but their music is amazing, I am not the only one, look at the comments. Similar to many army songs, you may not give a damn about the country but their music could still sound good!
