Resit Grades and University Applications watch

So, I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I'm applying for Politics and Sociology, so hopefully it will be OK here.

I'm a to-be mature student applying with a Access to HE qualification and recently sat my GCSEs. I passed (B in English, C in Maths and C in Biology), but, as I was planning on doing Psychology at the time, paid to resit to try and get a B in Maths.

Even though all the courses I want to do now only require a C, I figured I'd try and aim for a B anyway, having already paid, but the pressure has really started to take a toll on my mental health. So, I've decided to push my Maths to the side. I'll still sit the exams (I've already sat one), but as I already have my C, I need to prioritise my health and the Access course first and foremost.

My question is: will a university look down upon the fact I've resat and got the same grade / lower? I mean, on the chance I do get lower, I get to keep my original grade so that won't be a problem - but I'm worried universities will look down on me because my resit result was bad. Will they?

i really cant see that it will matter, if you have the C they want then all they will concentrating on is the access course.
