Apparently most women are either bi or gay. Either way, it seems there's gonna be a lot more lezbo porn. And I can't say I'm complaining :sexface::sexface:

Sexuality is a spectrum, and apparently no women can call herself 100% straight.

At least, that’s what a controversial new study has concluded. In what must have been a pretty entertaining couple of hours, 345 women were asked to watch porn – both of the heterosexual and homosexual variety – while researchers recorded their responses.

They found that women who identified as straight got turned on by straight porn – sure – but that they also got turned on by girl-on-girl action.

    Dr. Gerulf Rieger concluded:

“Even though the majority of women identify as straight, our research clearly demonstrates that when it comes to what turns them on, they are either bisexual or gay, but never straight.”

While for many heterosexual women, being turned on by other women doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d want to get carnal with one, more and more women are embracing, and finding ways to satiate a bisexual curiosity…

They're using pornography to determine people's sexuality now? getting turned on by lesbian porn does not make you a lesbian. It doesn't make you attracted to women, it means you get turned on by a sexual situation. That's a pretty natural thing. It doesn't now mean you wanna sleep with girls. What bs -.-

I don't think it's that shocking, women are just different to men in that way, I mean first of all we don't feel the need to say 'NO HOMO' after complimenting each other so Y'know...

Oh that article is such bull. Stop fetishizing sexuality and get over yourselves. Seriously. An influx in the amount of women coming out as gay, bisexual, pansexual, etc. doesn't correlate to the amount of lesbian porn. Oh, and a newsflash for you, most of the pornstars who star in lesbian porn are actually straight. They get told they'll find more work if they star in lesbian movies... only because there are sex-starved saddos out there feeding that demand.

Have a wonderful day jerking off.

As a final year psychology student at a leading research institution, I think you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. You can't just group "psychology studies" together like that. You probably don't even know what psychology is....

Some studies are hard to repeat, some findings can be repeated over and over again. It obviously depends on the research area, and what is being measured etc.

Anyway, the process of finding different results is the whole process of scientific research. Because looking into what explains these differences increases understanding.

I find it fantastically egotistical that you can just disregard all of psychological research on such an unfounded statement.

Having said that. You definitely do not take one single study as solid fact, as the OP has done. Especially if the study is termed "controversial". How did they measure arousal? Sexual arousal can be measured in the same way as arousal in general, such as excitement or fear. So it might be that women showed signs of arousal when watching the video, but that doesn't necessarily mean sexual arousal. It can just be a physiological response to watching something a bit "naughty".

Someone seems pretty butthurt.I studied psychology, for a while, no need to throw childish insults.Alot of psychology work feels speculative and are often hard to prove.
Anything psychological is biological.I'm pretty hopeful psychology will get swallowed by advances in neuroscience, which will hopefully be able to validate or disprove many psychological theories.
You honestly can't compare psychology on the same level as physics or biology.

"As a psychology student at a leading institution".
You do know almost every university claims they are are a leading institution in some field or another.Do you mind naming this uni? Or mention some of the pioneering work they are doing that they can claim that? Is even in psychology they are leading?
