I'm writing an undergraduate philosophy essay, and during my research, I came across a webpage which summarised an argument that I thought sounded promising. I found the journal article containing the original argument afterwards, and I've included the argument in my essay. Do I need to reference the webpage which led me to the journal article (or include it in the bibliography)?
Also, is it acceptable to use webpages from other universities as sources/references in an essay? For example, can I use this: http://spot.colorado.edu/~tooley/Fou...Arguments.pdf? I came across it via Google, but it appears to be teaching material for a course at a different university.

If you quoted directly from the journal then you need to reference it, if you have discussed the essay try to mention their name ( ..... thinks that....... as shown in the argument about..... which has led me to believe.....) . If not then just the bibliography is fine.
