hello, I am hoping to apply for medicine next October and I'm trying to think of what I can do to make me stand out. I have a Saturday job as a cleaner (I only make beds - yet is this something I should include?). As well as this, I volunteer for an organisation called "Success 4 All", which provides free tutoring to underprivileged children. I will also be spending 3 weeks in the Phillipines in July volunteering, and will be fundraising until then to raise the £2,000 needed to get me there.
My question is that is this enough? And if not, does anyone have any ideas on what I could do? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

You will be surprised how small the personal statement is actually is once you start writing. I was at the same spot as you last year thinking I don't have enough but ended up with doing so much stuff that I couldn't even write. You clearly really good collection there already. However, I suggest to look for something that you could use as showing that it gave u an insight of medicine. So if I were u ill try to look for hospices or hospitals. And then if you still don't have any try to find a hobby or intrest u can talk about in ur last paragraph. Hope I helped!

Yes that's great thanks, I attend a lot of 'tasters' of medical school (one of which is the Mini Medical School run by Newcastle University, which is a series of lectures on a Thursday followed by a Clinical skills day) as well as things like talks about applying to medicine, life at uni and being a doctor etc. Are they worth including?

You will need to have work experience in some sort of hospital or healthcare environment. It is hard to get but you've got plenty of time to call up different hospitals and stuff.
    Then you'll be fine
Bare in mind I personally don't think you'll be able to fit everything in your personal statement so a lot of people ask their teachers to add it into their reference.
    Good luck
