Couple years ago everyone was talking about Michu at Swansea, now he has finally left after being on loan at a Spanish Fourth Division side, sad way it has all ended really,

It's amazing how quickly he shot to being amazing and then fell on his face.

    What happened?

I can't really work out what happened to him, he was the bargain of the season when he went to Swansea, but how this has unfolded so badly for him, again not got a clue.

I think he had some injury problems but didn't think he had any serious ones?

Imagine if Swansea had taken the money and ran.

    Indeed.

He's part of the Real Ovideo alumni, which is pretty impressive. Michu, Jokanović, Aragones, Collymore, Cazorla and Mata.

Did anyone actually bid for him though or was it all paper talk?

Don't think anyone actually submitted a formal bid.

I remember, so strange. Maybe he just lost all motivation after he didn't break into the national team.

Unrelated but it always makes me chuckle when I see someone's Twitter bio and they say they are a "Real Oviedo shareholder"

Because they were pretty much giving shares away a couple of years back

He just had a terrible attitude, would be interesting to hear more about it but people I know from Swansea claims it was the bad attitude and that he just didn't like it there. He must have liked it initially though but I guess that was a honeymoon period, and when it went wrong, it went spectacularly wrong.

He struggled as soon as he moved to Napoli, in truth. His final season at Swansea - 2013-14 was it? - saw his goal tally cut from 18 to 6, which wasn't great, but he was still making things happen for the side.

In other news, Monk is set to stay in the Swansea job amid speculation linking him with the sack.

He had an injury hit second season, and from what I can remember his bad attitude go brought up then.

Find it odd Monk was linked to be fired. Seems something very much non Jenkins like. If you point to Laudrup being sacked, I'd disagree as there was always tension between him and Jenkins, and they didn't see eye to eye, with Laudrup reportedly not caring enough. I hope he can pull the Swans out of this though, I'm sure he will too. He's the best man for the job.

Rumour has it that Jenkins wants somebody experienced to come in above Monk as a Director of Football-type figure, and the manager has made it clear he won't work under one apparently.

Interesting. Haven't been reading the rumours, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Tabloids started it all, of course, but even places like the Guardian are speculating now.

He has joined a fourth division Spanish side, Unión Popular de Langreo.

He first played at this level 12 years ago, and his brother is their coach.

Like most premier league strikers - 1 good season then fade away but with no implications on how much they earn.
