Stupid subject combination?

I am on International baccalaureate year 1, with subjects:

Language A SL
English B SL
Business & Management SL
Mathematics HL
Physics HL
Chemistry HL
Biology HL

According to IB coordinator many universities will not even consider my application due lack of "essay based subject" at HL. Also according to him Business isn't besr choice of Group 3 subject since universities prefer a traditional humanity subject. Is this true? Is it only the top universities that will rule me out? (I am not material for those anyway).
This far my grades based on midterms are okay, I have 7 on everything expect bio which is 6. Can I compensate something on my application with those? Or is it a bold "you have English B SL, no deal"?

According to this link at least Germany doesn't recognize my diploma at all... Is the case similar in other countries?
