I had a phone interview with two different companies last Monday. I haven't heard back from either of them yet. Is it typical for it to take this long, or should I assume that I was unsuccessful?

I don't know about your sector, but in general it isn't necessarily a rejection. Typically, if they are keen on you following a phone interview they will arrange a face to face interview reasonably swiftly. If it has been a week then it wouldn't be a problem for you to give them a call and ask about the outcome and the general time-frame moving forward.

Seconded. Give it a week. The people who end up having to interview can often be pretty busy and get sidetracked by other things going on. It is a bit rubbish if they don't get in touch with you to let you know what is going on, but a prompt from you early next week will do no harm.

    Good luck!
