Sixthform or college and why? watch

What the title says, share your opinion! Im struggling to choose between the two.

I'm assuming you're applying to study A levels. If you want help deciding between A levels and BTECs, you should specify.

6th form is very academic. It's focused on A levels, getting people into university if they so wish, etc. It's very similar to school, although rules are a little more relaxed (for example, you usually don't wear a uniform).

College is much more vocational, so even if you're doing A levels there, your college will not be 100% geared towards A levels so there may not be such great understanding of what is required for A levels by non-A level teachers. There will be a much greater emphasis on future careers, due to having more vocational courses, and less information regarding university applications as only a minority of students will be applying for HE. The students will be much more varied -- most colleges are 16+, so there may well be 16 year olds in the same class as a 20 year old and a 35 year old, all studying the same course! It depends on you as to whether this is a good thing.

Hope this helps. I have experience with 6th form (3 months of it! :P) and college.
