Hi James! Welcome to The Student Room. Are you looking at studying Creative Music Technology for an undergraduate degree after you've finished your BTEC course?

    Hi there,

Yes very interested in doing so however I am unsure whether to apply for a foundation degree or regular degree. I have no previous academic experience with music and no portfolio however have a definite interest and basic knowledge. I don't want to be out of my depth but at the same time don't want to a do an unnecessary foundation year. I am on track to get more than enough UCAS points to do degree and foundation courses typically require far far less points. What would you suggest is the best option?

    Hi again James,

Depending on where you apply to when going for a degree in Music Technology, they may require you to have some kind of portfolio or material to discuss during an interview / audition. If I direct you to our undergraduate courses page on the Leeds College of Music website, do you think any of our courses would suit your interest? If so, I'll reach out to someone of our staff to see what they would recommend you do

    Have a nice weekend!

    Liam
