Hi there, I am a first year biochemical engineering student and don't no what I want to do in life. I chose this degree because I thought it would be a good mix between science and engineering but I dont enjoy it much. Though I would be alright to put up with it for 4 yrs for good career opportunities.
I was wondering whether IT firms/jobs would regard my degree.
So would it be better to do 4yrs MEng degree in biochem eng and a yr of msc computer science.... OR change to computer science next yr????

First off, don't panic if you don't know what to do - it's totally fine at this stage to keep your options open and explore a few different career options!
Regarding your question as to whether you should complete your MEng degree in biochemical engineering, or go on to computer science, I would recommend trying to get some work experience in IT/technology before you make any decisions - that way, you can find out a little more about the industry and whether it suits you. We have internship opportunities that may be of interest to you over on Milkround here.
You could also take a look at our advice on the kind of careers that naturally lead on from chemistry/biochemistry, but if you are more interested in IT & technology, check out our 'day in the life of' graduate testimonials - hopefully it will be insightful for you!
Does that help? Let me know if you have any other questions!
