    2NO ---> N2O4

    The experiment is repeated but the pressure in the container is doubled
    Explain in terms of Kc the effect on the concentrations of NO2 and N2O4 when the mixture reaches equilibrium.

    The answer is Kc is unchanged by the increase in pressure. The [NO2]2 increases more than the [N2O4] so the amount of N2O4 increases and NO2 decreases to maintain Kc.

    I don't understand why the NO2 increases more than the N2O4?? When pressure increases doesn't the equilibrium shift to the side with less moles so more of the product should be prodiced?

    Can someone please explain this to me?
