So I need about £6000 to buy a boat for me to live in next year when I go to uni, the only thing I can think of is taking out a bank loan, is there any other possibilities and will this effect my student loan later on?

Can you get one to pay off bit by bit as you live in it till it's paid off?
Then you could do that when starting uni and getting your loans, and get a part time job

You won't get a bank loan, not unless you have a full time job and enough savings

Why are you living in a boat? Is student accommodation really that bad?

Is that an annual cost? Seems low as a purchase price for a canal boat.

Also does it include mooring costs, running costs (heat, light, power), maintenance, insurance etc?

But why not just stay in hall ?
