I am missing university for my partners Diwali which is today. I emailed the lecturer a while ago who said that there are no exams or assessments, just a lecture and a workshop but she doesnt recommend that i have a day off. Its on a case conference and ive been there since day one and i have done my work! but I'm not the only one to have missed it! I am feeling a bit worried though.. Im okay not to go if theres no exams or assessments, arent i? Ive hurt my shoulder as well so ive got that to contend with

I think it all depends on what you won't get by missing the day.

It's not the end of the world if you miss a day, you can catch up if you put the effort in.

It doesn't sound like your lecturer has a huge objection. Their advice is sensible and says what most lecturers would say. I wouldn't read too much into it. Your attendance is otherwise excellent, so as there's mo upfront ban on days off, there shouldn't be any comeback. Make sure you catch up anything you miss and all should be well.

I miss lectures all the time... It's no biggie, just spend an extra hour catching up
