Cambridge is Crap

Just to put u all off - guys if ure thinking of coming to cambridge and having a raving social life that is pretty unlikely. Its way overpriced - many a nite i payed over £5 for a drink and the choice of clubs is limited. Shops are pretty poor and the cafes are always packed full of tourists - which in my opinion is the reason for skyrocekting prices round here. Anyway to avoid bankrupting yourself in your first year head to the regal on regent street its always pretty lively and its huge, or the cow. Also take advantage of monday nite fez (really CHEAP) - & try to get on the guest list (which is free entry before 10 & allows queue skipping). xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

alternatively, drink most of your drinks in your college bar beforehand, which is undoubtedly significantly cheaper, than buying any drinks when you're out... i'd never pay £5 for a drink... seemslike a silly thing to do... (well, apart from a catz double fire engine -that's worth it...)

You want cafes, go to Mill Road. They're better.

Sainsburys also sells alcohol so if you ignore the '6 people in your room makes a party' rule you can have a lot of fun without even needing to hit the town (or even needing to drink alcohol, come to that). Or do what one of my friends does and make your own cider at home and bring copious amounts of that.

;yes;

and who introduced you to the amazing wonders of Mill Road?

Black Cat and CB1 are my favourites. You dont get tourists down there at all. Jaffa Net is good too.

CB1 is scary.
Assumedly Jaffa net will be going soon what with the old smoking ban. No shisha kind of ends the purpose of a shisha bar. If you don't mind walking further along there is cafe Brazil which sells some crazycool different fruit juices. Last time I was there I had papaya.

Uh oh!! The smoking ban applies to Shisha?? OMG. Well, not to worry I have my own. But seriously Edgware road cafs are going to go out of business.
Avoid Trinity vaults!!! I paid £7 for a double vodka there on my first week of term - needless to say i have since wised up! Formal swaps are the way forward - a cheap bottle of wine from sainsburys (well preferably quite a nice one which is on offer) and you're away!!
Trinity Vaults do two cocktails for £6 on Tuesday nights, super cheap. And one of them tastes like Ribena!

This depends on whether you want somewhere cheap where you can just get rat-arsed with your mates and have a good time, or whether you want a classier place where you can meet interesting people. Personally I love Vaults.

Oh please. That's nothing compared to these two near me:

1.Club Earth

2.The Power Station

The second one has a night called "Monday Detention" for 8 - 12 year olds...

... which has even more chavs. Fact.

Basically, there are chavs in Cambridge, but you rarely see them.

I was out tonight, without thinking that it's a long weekend and that tonight would be just like a Friday night. Believe me, the townies were out in force.
