Does anyone know how to answer this question using a differentiation method,
The sum of the two shorter sides of a right angled triangle is 18cm, calculate....
A) the least possible length of the hypotenuse
B) the greatest possible area
The book that it is in has the isbn of 9780521548960 and the answer in the back is A) 9 root 2 and B) 40.5 cm^2
