Ive been sure that I wanted to do a maths degree for a long time now. However, in recent weeks ive been trying to think about life after Uni. I have come to the conclusion that a Job in the financial sector is something that i am very interested in. This has made me question whether a Mathematics Bsc is the correct decision for me. Do you think it would be more beneficial to do a Maths and/with Economics, or Maths with finance? I did economics AS( got a B, 4 ums off A) and taking it at A Level (along with Maths and Further Maths) and I enjoy it, but i am certainly more passionate about maths.

Any advice from postgrads or undergrads would be helpful and appreciated.

    Thanks!

I know several people who have done Maths BSc and gone into the financial sector. Maths a great degree to have if that is what you want to go into. If you prefer maths then just apply to maths you will be at no disadvantage tbh. It seems that most of the graduate jobs in the financial sector want mathematical based degrees so physics or stats etc. would also serve you well.

Thanks. I was just worried that i may miss out on some key modules that the financial sector may deem necessary. I knew that doing Maths Bsc wouldnt completely cut off paths into the financial sector, but i was worried it may somewhat limit myself.
