Greenhouse gases are responsible increasing the amount of radiation from the Sun that is absorbed in the Earth's atmosphere. As the levels of these greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide have been increasing due to human activity, more radiation is being absorbed which has caused increasing temperatures and global warming.


I'm afraid I can't find anything for the ozone layer, I'm not quite sure how to link it to the question, though here's some information:

The ozone layer is made up of oxygen molecules (O3) and absorbs some of the Sun's Ultraviolet radiation which is dangerous because it can cause skin cancer. CFCs are responsible for destroying parts of the ozone layer which allows more UV radiation into the atmosphere. It's important to remember that the ozone layer isn't a greenhouse gas so it doesn't contribute to global warming.

The greenhouse effect is an effect in the atmosphere as a result of the presence of certain gases, called the greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are similar to the glass panes of a greenhouse which trap heat and warm the greenhouse.
Carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs), methane, nitrous oxide, low level ozone and water vapour make up the greenhouse gases.
With the exception of CFCs, most of the greenhouse gases occur naturally. However, all of them are also the result of human activities.
Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide have increased by nearly 30%, the concentrations of methane have more than doubled, and the concentrations of nitrous oxide (N2O) have risen by about 15%.
How the greenhouse effect happens?

1. Sunlight enters the Earth's atmosphere.
2. Some solar radiation is reflected back into space.
3. Most of the radiation is absorbed by the Earth. This warms the surfaces of the sea and land.
4. As the Earth is warmed, heat in the form of infrared radiation is radiated back into space.
5. However, much of this heat does not escape from the atmosphere but remains trapped by the greenhouse gases, increasing the temperatures of the atmosphere.
6. At the same time, greenhouse gases cause the infrared rays to be radiated back towards the surface of the Earth.

Moving on, climate change is due to the thinning of the ozone layer. The ozone layer is a region in the stratosphere, between 20 and 25 kilometres above the surface of the Earth. This layer contains high concentrations of ozone molecules (O3) that absorb ultraviolet (UV) radiation and shield organisms from its damaging effects.

The destruction of the ozone layer is mainly due to the increasing levels of CFCs in the atmosphere. CFCs are used as coolants in air conditioners and refrigerators, propellants in aerosol cans and foaming agents in the making of styrofoam packaging. CFCs, once in the stratosphere, are broken down by UV rays. As a result, highly reactive chlorine radicals (Cl*) are released. These cholrine radicals break down the ozone molecules (O3) in a chain reaction.

Depletion of the ozone layer causes more UV rays to penetrate the Earth's stratosphere. The more CFCs, the more chlorine radicals, the more UV rays, the higher tendency of UV rays breaking down a CFC, even more CFCs, even more chlorine radicals, even more UV rays. So face the music. Skin cancer, Cataracts, sunburns, weakened immune system, reduction of crop yields and kills important microorganisms. Of course, not to mention climate change - increase in the temperature of the Earth.
