is having literally one friend in year 11 normal?
I don't think there's anything wrong with that, having one good friend is much better than having lots of average friends in my opinion. I didn't have many friends in high school, and the ones I did have, I stopped being friends with in college, because I realised that they weren't worth being friends with (for various reasons). I still have one true friend, and that's all I need

Better to have one really good friend than lots of fakes who pretend to be your friend then talk **** behind your back.

is having one friend when im in year 11 normal?
Dude seriously it doesn't matter. I joined a new Sixth Form to study my A levels. It has been just over a year since I started Sixth Form and I probably only have 2 really good friends. That is all I need.
