    Hello

I studied journalism for a year at uni, made some amazing friends in halls, and then decided the course wasn't for me. I'm currently still living with my friends in a different house. Now, I'm going back to uni in September and I'm really stumped about where to live. Do I live with my mates again (who are going to be 3rd years) or do I go back into student accommodation with first years again?

I'm so confused. Part of me wants to stay with my friends, but then when it comes to my second year, I might not have anyone to live with because my friends would have graduated and I wouldn't have made real close friends!

    Hi there,

I'd personally say go back to halls! Just because you won't live with your friends in a house - doesn't mean you can't go see them regularly and it may become quite stressy around the end of year three which first years don't tend to experience quite as much!

You'll potentially bond a lot better with other first years by living with them and it'll help in trying to get a house in your second year after most of your current third year friends would have graduated!

    I hope helps!
    - Kath .

    Thank you for the advice!

I think you're right, I've just got to buck up and get on with it haha.

    Thank you, again

Do check if your uni will give a place in halls to a student who is restarting their degree and has already lived in halls. Many won't, especially if there is a shortage of halls
