Let's be fair, Maxwell beat India today - not Australia. I felt that, if India were going to win an ODI in this series, today was their best bet. Maxwell's knock was superb, though.

India's bowling was far better in this game - Jadeja especially - and Kohli was outstanding with the bat.

You feel that Australia's batting depth is probably the finest in the world right now, and they've some great fielders, but their inexperienced bowling attack consistently makes life tough for their order. Can they keep it up? Three matches in a row they've allowed India to set a record chase for each respective ground.

Best game of the series so far today, though.
India lost this match due to their inability to rotate the strike in the middle overs (especially Shikhar Dhawan) and they weren't able to move on as much as it got down to the last 10 (we still got 88 runs, but we could have got more). The bowling was actually pretty decent in this match, I would say. Ishant and Jadeja were very good, Yadav will always be expensive because of the pace that he has, and I didn't see the debutants bowl so can't comment on them.

Obviously annoyed that we ended up losing another ODI and series in Australia, but we are getting closer to overcome this Australian side.

Kohli was magnificent, I would be really really surprised if he didn't break Sachin's record of 49 ODI centuries. He is 27 and already has 24 centuries.
Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill just keep breaking records, don't they? Highest T20 partnership ever. They are just in incredible form, at the moment.

Remarkable stuff from NZ today.

Kane Williamson is some player. It is not about how much he scores but it is more about how consistently he scores big across all formats and in all countries as well. Sheer class.

Will they have good enough spinners to really shine, though?
Haven't seen any of them, so just basing this on the scorecards, but aren't the scores India have put up against Australia about par these days? Especially in Australia. It's fair enough to criticise India's bowlers, but for a side as inbalanced as they are, they really need their batsmen to be scoring 350+ to put pressure on the opposition.

Kohli is a sensational player - and it's pleasing that he has shown he has the ability to shine in all manner of Test cricketing conditions.

India have only their bowlers to worry about. If they sort out the attack, they can easily overcome this Australia side I think.

Yeah, I agree. I still think his best in tests is still to come, but he has shown his ability.

Australia's batting is really strong, but we should be able to beat them hopefully.

Finn will miss the 4th Test through injury.

Plunkett replaces him, and uncapped opener Stephen Cook has been added to the South Africa squad.
How many t20 matches are ind/aus playing? 3 or 5?

5.
Absurd batting collapse from India.

Yet another Kohli ton, though.
Well played Richardson, India's bowling is a mess. They'll be looking to avoid the whitewash in the final game, and hopefully the pitches are not flat roads like the previous four games.

What an embarrassment. How did they manage to lose this one? It was an absolute cakewalk at almost 280/1.

Positives for India are - as ever - Kohli and Dhawan. The former leads by example, and both of them batted really well but it was once again all in vain after they were let down by their team-mates. I have sympathy for Rahane though, admittedly, after he suffered split webbing.

I worry about this Australian side. Warner - after that maiden opening - got right back into the swing of things after the birth of his child, and despite them being without their two main bowlers Starc and Cummins, they have completely dismantled India. They are a force to be reckoned with and have gone 18-0 now.

It was a laughable collapse - and Australia have more than just a hope in hell of registering a whitewash.
Don't even want to think about that match. So embarrassing.

Khawaja ton helps Sydney Thunder reach the Big Bash League final, beating them by eight wickets.

Khawaja averaging 275 this BBL at a strike rate of 160 with two centuries. He has well and truly played his way into the Australian reckoning for the World Twenty20 in March, hasn't he? Phenomenal innings today - one of the most stylish I've seen.

Great for the Thunder, too. They finished last, last, last and second last in the first four editions of the BBL. Haha!

Indeed!

Meanwhile, KP signs up for two more years with the Melbourne Stars. Hopefully that keeps him out of the British press and commentary boxes for a little while longer.

FFS... I knew you couldn't resist that one. They played beuran hendricks + johnson pretty much every game - both dudes normally bleed runs - only johnson normally has wickets to show for it.

Maxwell, Bailey, johnson - thats all the australians they play fool. Bailey can play in india, he just sucks at t20.
