Hi I'm applying for history and I've been predicted AAB, I'm thinking of applying to:
Southampton
Birmingham
Liverpool
Newcastle
Kent

Can anyone tell me if these are good choice as? If they're good unis? If the night life's good? If the people are friendly? Etc

Thanks!!

The place to find out these sorts of things is really university open days. Did you have the chance to visit the universities at all? Whether a uni is "good" or not is a pretty personal thing, especially as history is a pretty broad subject and course content can vary greatly.

Also, what one person considers good nightlife could be another person's idea of a nightmare,

Your choices are also massively spread out around the country- have you thought about the logistics of getting to Kent and Newcastle?

If you haven't had a chance to visit the unis yet, definitely do so after you've applied. You'll be spending three years of your life there, so you need to base your choices on your own opinion, not other peoples.

I've been to see Kent, Liverpool and birmigham. They're spread out but they're all reliably equal in distance from where I live. I'm not to worried about how far I have to go away from home so that isn't my main concern!
I'm more interested in knowing if anyone else can tell me anything they think about the universities that I wouldn't find on their websites!

The thing is, no-one is going to have experience of all these unis! If you want student experiences of each uni, your best bet is probably going to be starting individual threads in each uni forum.
