Applying with IB scores

I'm doing the IB and will be applying at the begginig of my next school year (oct 2007) are these choices realistic?

Prospective Course: Law (with American Law where they offer it)
Universities (and their grade requirements): Oxford (39 -766 -777 highers), LSE (38-40, 666 Highers), UCL (38-40), KCL(36), Warwick (36-38)
IB Grades: English A1 HL- 7, Economics HL-7, History HL- 6, Maths SL-7, Thai A2-7, Chemistry SL-7, ToK-A.

What if i screw up LNAT :s-smilie: ?

If you apply with those predicted grades, you're set for an IB Diploma with 44 pts -- academic credentials like that should be sufficient to buy you serious consideration at any university. I'd be surprised if you didn't receive any offers at all.

As I'm sure you're well aware though, Law is an extremely competitive subject and so your personal statement, academic reference, GCSE/equivalent grades, as well as your LNAT score, are also likely to play a significant role in your application. I imagine Oxford will want to interview you as well.

Unless you're completely confident that each of these aspects will also be up to scratch, and absolutely don't want to settle for anything less than the unis you have listed above, it'd be wise to add an insurance choice of some kind.

It might be more helpful to ask for advice in the Law subforum, or perhaps in the IB subforum -- I think there are a few people there holding Oxbridge offers for Law next year.

I applied to all the universities mentioned above except that I applied for Cambridge instead of Oxford and Durham instead of Warwick plus I applied to Nottingham as well for Law

My predicted scores (I'm not 100% sure what they are) but they're either 42 or 43 something like that..and unfortunately I did screw up the LNAT due to certain circumstances.. Obviously, I got rejected from Cambridge, but I still have offers from Nottingham and Durham and am waiting to hear from UCL and King's..

So my advice is that you should do the practise LNAT test (which is on the website..I wish I had known before) and maybe do some problems that involve critical thinking (if you can find any)..

The universities you are applying to are all top unis and believe me even if you screw up on the LNAT (which I hope u don't), with a good PS and those predicted grades you'll get a couple of offers if not more

P.S. I also suggest that may be you should do some law related work over the summer (like an internship or something)..looks good on your app
