# A very paranoid Cloudey - OCR Maths Higher watch

1. did anybody else do this paper. the calculator paper 6 was yesterday. It was the one with the circle of x2+y2=13 and A and B were on the line y=2x-1 and met both lines. It was 7 marks

how did others find the paper
2. I did that paper, i found it quite easy, the question you metioned about the circles was like this,

1 Y^2 + x^2 = 13
2 y = 2x - 1

rearrange 1. y^2 = 13 - x^2
square 2. y^2 = (2x - 1)^2
y^2 = 4x^2 -4x +1

13 - x^2 = 4x^2 - 4x +1
5x^2 - 4x - 12 = 0
Factorize (5x +6)(x - 2) = 0

x = -1.2 or 2

so y = -3.4 or 3

A = (2,3)
B = (-1.2,-3.4)

yay that's what i got
Cacked myself though when i saw a circular graph and then saw that it was worth 7 marks!
4. That was a bit excessive for one question, but good if you could do a simple substitution.

They haven't examined transformations, rotation etc. in about 4 years!
