Parts of Poland originally were part of Germany but these lands were stolen from the Germans at the end of the First World War. The Germans tried to claim them back again by moving troops in. Winston Churchill gave them an ultimatum to move their troops out again or face war with Britain.

Firstly that ignores the appropriation of land outside of deals agreed with hitler, and therefore a line in the sand being drawn.

Secondly who cares that was 1939 and its 2015

If that is the standard of your historical knowledge, you aren't going to pass your GCSE.

Churchill was a backbench MP when Chamberlain gave an ultimatum to Hitler.

The invasion of Poland was due to the German policy of Lebensraum and agreed with Stalin in the Molotov - Von Ribbentrop Pact as part of the partition of Poland. The Russians invaded half of Poland and the Germans the other half, including large areas that had no German connections.

The lesson from history is don't trust Socialists whether they are National Socialists or International Socialists.

Now I'm not much of a history guy but I'm 99.99% sure it was Chamberlain that declared war.

I'm not an expert in history, but even I know that Britain declared war against Germany in 1939 and Churchill became prime minister in 1940 so....
